Rules of the Game
Please read the guidelines for the Inspired Ground Austin Initiative below:
- You must be a musician or sound engineer residing in Austin, Texas
- You must have access to an Internet connection
- You must have a mobile payment application account with Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or Cash App
- You must be able to produce a video within 5 days (except Platinum Album tier) of claiming a pledge and upload it to Inspired Ground
- You must be 18 years of age or older
Here are some answers to your most frequently asked questions
Do I give up any rights to my work?
No. All your music/intellectual property is and remains yours.
How do I get paid?
Sponsors will be provided with your personal payment app information and honor their pledges directly to you.
Does the Inspired Ground Austin Initiative or Inspired Ground take any money from sponsorships?
Is Inspired Ground a charity or non-profit organization?
No. Inspired Ground is a creative project producing an album and a documentary about buskers.
Can a sponsor refuse to honor their pledge?
Well, yes. But, why would they? It wouldn’t look too good for them.
What if I take a sponsorship and never make a video?
You forfeit your ability to have your pledge honored.
How many projects can I enter?
As many as you want. But there is a 3-day waiting period for consecutive postings per tier level, so everyone gets a fair shake.
Can my project be rejected?
We reserve the right to accept or reject any project. But, you can always post again and we will always tell you the reason for a rejection.
How do I upload my videos?
Once you have accepted a pledge, Inspired Ground will send you a DropBox upload request.
How long do I have to produce my video?
After accepting a pledge, you must produce and upload the video within 5 days. If you don’t meet the deadline, you will have to begin the process again and obtain a new pledge.
Can my video be rejected?
We reserve the right to accept or reject any video if it does not meet the criteria set forth by the sponsorship tier level.
Can I use my original video after it is published on the Inspired Ground YouTube channel?
Yes. You own exclusive rights to your original video.
Who owns the video on Inspired Ground’s YouTube channel?
Inspired Ground shares the rights to the video with the artist(s) 50/50.
Will my video be monetized on the Inspired Ground YouTube channel?
All videos will be monetized unless YouTube prevents it due to copyright issues.
Do I get any ad revenue from my video if it is monetized on the Inspired Ground YouTube channel?
Yes. You will be entitled to receive 50% of the net ad revenue accrued by your video if it is monetized.
